Atomic jiu-jitsu belt ranking systems
At Atomic Jiu-Jitsu, we have a dual belt system for our Junior members and our Adult members. One belt system will be based on Gracie University’s self-defense based curriculums of Gracie Bullyproof for juniors and Gracie Combatives for adults. The other belt system will be based on the technique and time requirements of Atomic Jiu-Jitsu and the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) which is an organization that regulates the sportive aspect of jiu-jitsu. In order to compete, an IBJJF belt rank is required. In addition, we have belt ranking systems for our Gracie Women Empowered program for women’s self-defense where they can earn their self-defense Pink belts and also for Kick Boxing for juniors and adults!
The Gracie Bullyproof® belt ranking is based on Gracie University’s self-defense based curriculum for juniors. To fall under the Adult Ranking System, a junior member must be at least 16 years of age. For members under 16 years of age the system goes as follows: white, white-yellow, yellow, white-orange, yellow-orange, orange, white-green, yellow-green, orange-green, green.
It is of utmost importance that all junior members at Atomic Jiu-Jitsu have a self-defense based foundation to jiu-jitsu. To be considered for each belt promotion, the child must attend regularly for at least 8 months and complete between 80 and 100 classes.
